Updated: July 25th, 2017 The program I use to change my IP address on my iPhone and iPade is called ExpressVPN. You can learn more about the software by reading the rest of this post of visiting expressvpn.com.
In this post you’ll find instructions for setting up an OPEN VPN connection on your iPhone, iPad or other iOS device. No technical skill are necessary for following this guide. This is also the quickest and easiest way to change the IP address on your iPhone. I won’t go into detail about VPNs in this post but if you’d like to learn more you can go ahead and read this post titled “What is a VPN?” In short, VPN stand for Virtual Private Network which is a secure connection to a remote server. After you’ve successfully establish a connection to a remote server, you’ll start browsing the internet through the server, thus giving you a new/different IP address. There are many, many reason why you’d want to establish a VPN or change your IP address but for the purposes of this post, I’ll assume you have plenty of reasons already. For this guide to work you’ll need to signup for a VPN service. Personally I use Express VPN and that’s the VPN service I’ll be using in this guide. There are plenty of other options when it comes to choosing a VPN service.
Below you can see what the software looks like on a Windows operating system. As you can see, logging in is as easy as entering your username/password and selecting the new location you’d like to switch to.
Once you’ve selected your new IP address location and made a connection to the remote server, you can go use the internet on your iphone or ipad with your new ipaddress in your new location.
